Operations Senior Manager/Director

Risk & Regulatory Consulting, LLC (“RRC”)

Remote – Any US location

**Target Compensation range is $140-190k base plus bonus.  Please consider this when applying.**

Position Overview 

The Operations Senior Manager/Director position supports the firm by collaborating with all functional areas and enabling solutions that optimize resource and financial performance, minimize risk, and maximize internal client experience.

This professional will work closely with the RRC Partners to support RRC activities and drive efficiency.  The Operations Director may serve in an advisor role and will develop and coach internal administrative personnel to achieve personal and professional goals and objectives. Additionally, this individual will work with the RRC Partners to develop and implement processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness of the administrative staff and ensure compliance with all firm mandated policies and procedures. 

The Operations role is responsible for providing operational support to the RRC leadership team and client service teams with a focus on - Strategic Leadership, Strategic Implementation and Operational Optimization/Efficiencies.  In this capacity, operations is accountable to ensure tools, processes, systems, and resource allocation are in place and functioning as intended, and they effectively support the delivery of quality services to RRC's clients.

Strategic Leadership - Planning | Analysis | Leadership

  • Support and Execution
    • Partner strategically with and / or serve as a surrogate for assigned RRC Leader to support the execution of short and long-term goals
    • Participate in setting direction, making decisions, solving problems, and developing implementation plans and performance measurements for the ongoing success of the team
    • Partner strategically with assigned RRC Leader to develop leadership meeting objectives and agendas, facilitate leadership meetings, and provide management oversight to strategic and tactical imperatives
    • Participate in and contribute to the development and execution of growth strategies
  • Performance Analysis
    • Utilize performance reports and systems to perform detailed analysis of identified underperforming areas, summarizing findings and improvement recommendations to the RRC Leader(s)
  • Business Oversight
    • Continually identify, assess, monitor and communicate the issues and risks of a project/activity to the appropriate stakeholder
    • Provide interim hands-on leadership, management and oversight to problem areas on an as-needed basis
    • Provide day to day and ongoing performance management, development, coaching and exit-counseling of internal support team

Strategy Implementation - Management | SME

  • Initiative Management
    • Manage and facilitate internal consulting initiative implementations (i.e., new service offerings, technology solutions, business processes, etc.) by working with RRC Leaders, technical counterparts, internal support functions, and vendors as necessary to address full client delivery life cycle and operational components
    • Recognize and determine the appropriate corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and within agreed-upon deadlines
    • Apply knowledge to ensure projects achieve objectives and strategic business alignment
  • Change Management
  • Partner with RRC Leaders to provide change management support for internal initiatives, providing coaching and direction to internal support team

Operational Optimization - Practices | Policies  | Process | Effectiveness

  • Standard Operating Procedures
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all operational processes, ensuring appropriate documentation is in place to support directives
    • Update/document standard operating procedures as process improvements are implemented
  • Operational Effectiveness
    • Provide ongoing operational process oversight and monitoring of process adherence and effectiveness
    • Develop and implement process improvements focused on operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Technology Deployment
    • Act as operations subject matter expert and advocate for technology deployments, working with RRC Leaders, technical counterparts, internal support functions, and vendors
  • Reporting Effectiveness
    • Provide ongoing reporting oversight and monitoring of reporting effectiveness
    • Ensure reporting is available to monitor and measure key performance indicators
  • Process Improvement
    • Recommend and develop operational process improvement initiatives in support of the business strategy and to support RRC leaders
    • Identify problems in need of fixing and offer solutions for corrective action
  • Collaboration
    • Partner with assigned RRC Leader, consulting team, and internal departments (e.g., human resources, business developing/marketing, finance, legal, Office of Risk Management, etc.) to develop, implement and maintain efficient and effective operational support processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned on an ad hoc basis

People management

  • Serve as an advisor and coach to internal support team, providing and documenting consistent and timely feedback on performance and work production of operations team
  • Ensure team prioritization and delegation considering business needs and strategy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with RRC leaders, external client servers, and operations leadership within the firm to ensure constant alignment between the needs of the business and the needs of our clients, both internal and external 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree required

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Knowledge of SharePoint preferred
  • Financial analysis skills

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience working with management level individuals
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in a professional services firm; consulting line of business preferred
  • Minimum of five to seven years working in assigned area with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Previous experience in managing others in a team environment – direct or indirectly
  • Experience in navigating in a matrix reporting environment solving/resolving complex issues

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $142,800 - $253,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
