How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?


 

The Intellectual Property Department from Air Liquide Group is seeking a Patent Legal Assistant to join the satellite Intellectual Property Department at Air Liquide E&C Poland. The position is based in Krakow with the possibility of remote working three days per week after a transition period, and a close interaction with the Intellectual Property team in Paris is envisioned. Traveling to Paris, France may be required from time to time.


 

You will be in charge of assisting Patent Attorneys in the management of their patent portfolio. Your daily tasks will be varied and will include notably:

  • Maintain current knowledge of EPO and foreign rules relating to intellectual property as well as Group procedures;

  • Performs administrative and research-related duties for Patent Attorneys;

  • Help prepare legal documents and patent applications, proofread them before filing, perform background research for Patent Attorneys;

  • Process the filing of new EP or foreign patent applications;

  • Maintain knowledge of filing requirements, patent prosecution procedures, renewal data, expiration date, etc;

  • Prepare and review appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to internal clients regarding new applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc;

  • Provide follow-up service regarding due dates to Patent Attorneys;

  • Responsible for certification/legalization of formal legal documents as needed;

  • Maintain foreign filing docket and remind Patent Attorneys as necessary for work assignments;

  • Analyzing incoming communications and other information for pertinent data and relays that information to Patent Attorneys and timekeepers as needed;

  • Prepare forms for new cases including docketing of all incoming cases.

The successful candidate is likely to fulfill the following criteria:

  • University diploma or equivalent;

  • Qualification or certification in Patent Assistant or IP Assistant (if available);

  • Being versed to EPO proceedings as well as other foreign PTOs (France, Germany, the UK, or the US are an advantage);

  • Being trained in a law firm or in-house at least 3 to 5 years;

  • Polish and English speakers are required, in addition German speaker will be a great advantage;

  • Prioritize workload to meet deadlines and due dates;

  • Maintain a high-quality work product and ability to schedule work to meet department deadlines and perform job responsibilities under pressure efficiently, productively, and in a professional manner;

  • Work in team and collaborate, but is as well fully autonomous;

  • Possess soft skills and the ability to communicate efficiently
