Macquarie University is seeking atalented and experienced Layout Engineer to provide engineering support for semiconductor and technology projects. What you’ll do as a Layout Engineer in the SiP Lab
Undertakes detailed transistor level layout of circuits including analogue, mixed-signal and RF blocks.
Design verification including DRC, LVS and DFM.
Works together with other team members on floorplanning and placement.
Performs layout review including signal integrity for RF, sensitive traces, power/ground.
Experienced with Cadence and Synopsys layout and verification tools.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering offers both undergraduate and postgraduate Degree programs across a diverse range of disciplines. The SiP Lab is a newly formed, advanced hardware platforms and silicon chip design lab with advanced silicon system-on-chip (SoC) / system-in-package (SiP) capabilities. The research focuses on key semiconductor industry trends in communications and sensing, as well as partnering with adjacent research teams across the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the wider University to integrate their own novel IP onto a silicon platform, with benefits anticipated in the fields of synthetic biology, photonics, and quantum technologies.

How to Apply

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in software engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, optics, photonics, physics or related discipline and extensive experience working in the specialised discipline.
Demonstrated experience working with programming languages such as Python, C/C++, shell scripts.
Experience working in a *nix/Linux environment.
Demonstrated ability consulting with and obtaining user requirements from clients and stakeholders.
Experience working on projects including tracking progress, resolving challenges as they arise and delivering to budget, on time and to specification.
Contributing to project proposals and reviewing technical specifications and reports.
Working collaboratively in a technical team to solve technical problems.
Your layout experience (types of circuits and technologies used).
This position requires criminal record checks.
