Your Impact
The Compensation and Talent Analytics Lead will be responsible for ensuring RMI’s compensation practices are aligned with our talent strategy. You’ll play a key role in analyzing salary structures, conducting market research, and maintaining compensation processes, while also diving into talent analytics to inform workforce planning and employee development initiatives.
The Lead is an individual contributor who will report to the Senior Manager for Talent and Performance Management within the People Experience Team. This role works closely with the People Partnership, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations teams, as well as with other internal and external stakeholders to deliver success.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
- Compensation Analysis: Conduct market research and benchmarking annually and as needed to ensure competitive salary structures. Drive the annual compensation review process to prepare for merit increases, driving employee satisfaction and retention. Analyze compensation data to identify trends and recommend adjustments based on market changes.
- Job Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate job descriptions to classify roles, align salary ranges, and ensure internal equity. Conduct salary audits to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with HR leaders to create job families and leveling structures.
- Talent Analytics: Collect, analyze, and interpret workforce data, providing actionable insights on talent trends, including attrition, performance, diversity, and engagement.
- Dashboards & Reporting: Develop and maintain reporting tools to monitor compensation metrics and talent data, delivering insights to HR leadership and business stakeholders. Prepare reports on compensation trends and talent analytics for quarterly reviews.
- Collaboration: Work closely with People Partnership, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and other teams to ensure compensation decisions align with broader talent strategies. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate teams on compensation practices and analytics.
- Project Leadership: Lead and contribute to key compensation and talent analytics projects, ensuring successful implementation and outcomes.
Core Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in compensation analysis, talent analytics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Culture Amp); experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in using compensation benchmarking and equity platforms (i.e. Payscale) and consulting partners (i.e.Mercer) for compensation benchmarking and analysis.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Champion of inclusion and equity; skilled in navigating diverse perspectives.
- Ability to effectively communicate and answer compensation inquiries from across the organization
- Strong presentation/facilitation skills
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Experience working in a fast paced, mission driven organization
- Familiarity with labor laws and regulations related to compensation
- Experience with global compensation
- Experience planning and delivering data-driven HR projects
- Experience working with new or existing presentations to create visually appealing, persuasive, effective presentations around compensation philosophy and data
Location
We are a remote-ready company with team members around the globe. Our beautiful and welcoming offices are available for meetings or focused work, whether you are traveling through or living nearby. Our U.S. offices are in New York City; Washington DC; Oakland, California; Boulder, Colorado, and Basalt, Colorado.

We love seeing each other in person! We occasionally gather for shared time together like retreats and learning experiences. Be ready to travel for occasional in-person meetings (and of course, we cover travel costs). Some roles may require more travel, which will be discussed during the hiring process.
Compensation
RMI compensates based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary for this role is in between $81,900 to $100,942. You would also have an additional 5% bonus target!
