We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale our $40M financial services business unit to $200M within three years. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the financial services industry, strong operational expertise, and the ability to drive growth through strategic partnerships, product innovation, and impeccable execution
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to grow the business unit from $40M to $200M in revenue within three years.
- Partner with the CEO, corporate teams, and business unit executive team to align the company’s operations with its overall business objectives.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand market reach and enhance the company’s product offerings.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective processes that drive profitability and scalability.
- Build and manage a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Develop and execute a roadmap for short-term and long-term growth, balancing immediate needs with future opportunities.
- Product Management & Development:
- Lead the development and enhancement of the company’s product portfolio, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and market relevance.
- Work closely with the product development teams to innovate and launch new products that meet evolving customer needs and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure robust product lifecycle management, from ideation to commercialization and post-launch performance.
- Customer success and relationship management
- Oversees teams responsible for customer relationship management, retention and year-over-year revenue growth
- Focus on VOC and Net Promoter to help sustain growth and drive referral pipeline for other financial institutions.
- Compliance, Security, & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all business operations and products comply with applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the integrity and reliability of the company’s offerings.
- Stay abreast of banking-specific regulatory changes and ensure the company’s operations and products remain compliant and competitive.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the business unit’s budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and maximizing ROI.
- Monitor financial performance, analyzing key metrics to drive decision-making and course corrections as needed.
- Work with finance and other departments to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial planning.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class operations team, ensuring the right talent is in place to achieve the company’s ambitious growth targets.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture that emphasizes transparency, agility, and results.
- Empower and support team members to achieve their full potential and contribute to the company’s success.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
- Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide, coach, mentor and develop staff ensuring compliance with processes and procedures
- Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling and termination of staff
- Develop and maintain staff by applying the necessary training and leadership that will allow internal growth and advancement
- Direct staff, to ensure that all duties are performed according to department performance standards
Position Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Ten (10) years sales experience in payments industry required, with a focus on external sales required. Five (5) years contact relationship database management experience required.
- Proven experience as a COO or in a similar senior operational leadership role within the financial services industry.
- Experience with banks and understands the unique culture, strategic needs, and sales strategies of banks.
- Demonstrated track record of scaling a business unit or company from $40M to $200M or more in revenue.
- Deep understanding of the financial services market, including knowledge of regulatory requirements, product development, and market trends.
- Strong strategic planning, analytical, and financial management skills.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, with a passion for developing talent and driving results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on execution and accountability.
