The Opportunity

Our dedicated Audit Data Analyst - Senior Audit Manager collaborates with Audit leaders to accomplish objectives with a systematic and disciplined data approach.  Evaluates and improves the effectiveness of audits by providing data and automation innovation and support to the Audit team. Reviews and/or performs Data Analysis results of team members and building innovative solutions.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Phoenix, AZ Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for partnering with Audit Data Analytics leadership and Internal Audit management with project Planning, Execution, and Reporting.

  • Drives the effective use of data analytics techniques to support audits across our Technology, Operations, and Regulatory pillars.

  • Provides data-driven and technology-enabled assurance.

  • Provides audit teams understanding of strategic initiatives utilizing advanced data analysis capabilities, providing greater and continuous assurance, to ensure quality products and services are provided to stakeholders and members.

  • Leads audits and innovative Data-Driven Continuous Auditing approaches and audit methodology and technology enablers.

  • Partners with audit teams to build effective analytics and insights to ongoing strategic initiatives.

  • Applies proven/advanced data algorithms, and advanced analytic and modeling techniques to draw insights essential to driving improvement initiatives. 

  • Ability to prototype and simulate use cases for Advanced analytics, continuous analytics solutions, ongoing & proactive assessment of analytic results in partnership with relevant teams, leveraging data to tell compelling business stories, with a keen focus on impact & insights.

  • Extensively supports Managers and team members with Subject matter expertise and process knowledge to help make insights extremely relevant and actionable for our business partners.

  • Presents key insights to auditors and management using advanced visualization tools and highlight the data analytics capability to the team.

  • Presents findings and thought leadership topics to senior members of the organization, including ability to extract complex issues for executive level summary communications.

  • Assists in ensuring the successful implementation of the automation roadmap for audit, which includes improving audit department efficiency, leveraging data analytic tools (i.e., Power BI, and SAS) to enable continuous auditing.

  • Provides preliminary data analysis reports, extracts, or searchable records for peers, stakeholders, or management.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or other quantitative discipline. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • 8 years experience with analytic coding techniques, visualization tools and creating reporting dashboards.

  • 4 years experience in SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, RPA, Power BI or other data analysis tools.

  • 4 years experience working on data and analytics in an Audit or Controls functional business area.

  • 3 years experience building visualization analytics to present scenarios from the data and storytelling in an Audit or other Control function.

  • Proficient in Databases – Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Loads.

  • Experience as a liaison between the business analysts and the auditors.

  • Strong analytical thinker and detail oriented with the ability to proactively identify issues and assist in resolution.

  • Familiarity using audit or Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) software such as Archer or other related tools.

  • Working knowledge of statistical/data mining analysis tools, relationship databases and programming languages within the Big Data environment.

  • Ability to analyze multiple sources of data to distill insights and drive business outcomes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that deliver quality, actionable and beneficial feedback to management on potential control issues and solutions to close gaps.

  • Experience guiding and coaching team members and members in cross-matrix teams.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $138,230 - $264,200. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
