Job Summary:

Responsible to perform programming software development tasks to support our organization's software applications. This includes but is not limited to analysis, encoding, testing, and debugging. Works directly with the application teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support software and/or software changes requested by the system. Uses technical skills to help monitor and maintain our critical systems/applications.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible to understand assigned tasks and ask for clarification when necessary.
  • Participates in team on-call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support.
  • Supports system upgrades, patches, and monitoring.
  • Responsible to communicate all progress, roadblock, issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Prepares documentation and provides training to team members on new development assignments.
  • Responsible to work with assigned application staff and/or user community to develop design documents for assigned tasks.
  • Responsible to document all changes within designated timeframes & in adherence with change management policy.
  • Responsible for following department coding/programming guidelines to produce efficient routines.  Provides input on new standards.
  • Responsible to provide preliminary code review, testing, debugging, and general testing instructions for application staff, assist in go-live planning, assist in go-live moves, and post-live support.
  • Facilitates and actively contributes in meetings by being an engaged listener and offering both feedback and input.
  • Cultivates critical thinking atmosphere across team(s) to problem solve and strives to understand the root cause of the issue.
  • Demonstrates an expert understanding of application specific programming language(s).
  • Possesses a strong understanding of the application specific database.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of 1 or more applications/modules.
  • Assists with the development of and precepting of others.
  • Possesses knowledge of integration points within and across the various internal applications as well as the integration points with other outside systems.
  • Begins to develop understanding of how to be an accountable owner for technical projects.
