RSM is seeking a dynamic audit manager to join our National Professional Standards Group (NPSG). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about auditing, has the desire to work with other high performing professionals, and desires a career serving as a resource for the audit practice.

Position can sit anywhere in the US, although cities with an RSM office are preferred.

Job Summary:

  • Leads national projects focusing on audit standards and methodology changes, including working with others to incorporate relevant guidance and policy into audit tools and technology. Provides technical assistance to audit teams, assists with developing and maintaining audit policy and guidance, and develops and delivers training materials to the firm's audit practice. May assist others with various projects and mentors and develops other team members.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead the planning and execution for the implementation of new auditing standards and related policies
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the firm's audit manuals and practice aids by serving as content author or technical reviewer of content
  • Develop national training materials, e.g., in-person courses, webcasts and self-studies
  • Facilitate national trainings, including in-person courses and webcasts
  • Provide technical assistance to audit teams and others in NPSG
  • Assist with the development of thought leadership documents, such as performing research on topics and drafting articles for the audit practice or, in some cases, firm-wide distribution
  • Participate in external outreach activities, e.g., external task forces and working groups, standards-setting committees, contributing to and drafting comment letters, and support other NPSG members on their external outreach activities
  • Mentor and develop other team members

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years of experience in public accounting including time at Manager level
  • Preference to have experience auditing under PCAOB auditing standards
  • Significant interest in auditing standards, methodology and relevant application
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • High achiever and drive for excellence
  • Thirst for knowledge and passion for sharing new ideas
  • Highly productive and takes initiative without direct oversight
  • Collaborative and respectful team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • CPA is required

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $86,500 - $163,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
