Job Description:

We’re looking for a passionate, experienced Culinary Supervisor to join our team at Neighborhood Services Bar + Restaurant at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU. This role is ideal for a skilled supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced, upscale, scratch-kitchen environment and wants to continue honing their craft alongside an accomplished Chef de Cuisine.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Inspire: Oversee and manage a shift, directing a team of culinary professionals in a supportive, high-energy environment. Create a positive, team-focused atmosphere that encourages growth, creativity, and commitment to excellence.

     

  • Craftsmanship and Quality: Ensure every dish meets our high standards, focusing on presentation, flavor, and quality. Oversee preparation, station setup, and expediting to maintain consistency in every plate that leaves the kitchen.

     

  • Mentorship and Development: Act as a mentor for the team, sharing knowledge of techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen best practices. Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to learn and apply advanced culinary skills, menu development, and kitchen management techniques.

     

  • Inventory and Cost Control: Assist in managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs. Ensure proper use and storage of all ingredients and products.

     

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation according to state and local health regulations and Omni Hotels & Resorts standards.

  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a full-service restaurant or upscale hotel kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

     

  • Passion for Scratch Cooking: You bring a deep appreciation for working with fresh ingredients and have experience in scratch kitchens that prioritize quality and creativity.

     

  • Team-Oriented: Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate with culinary and front-of-house teams to create an outstanding guest experience.

     

  • Desire to Learn: Eagerness to grow under the guidance of an experienced Chef de Cuisine, with a goal of advancing your culinary leadership skills.

  • Candidate must be able to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and taste/smell.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for an extended period, with frequent bending and twisting.
  • Candidate must have proper food-safety certifications.

 

*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
