THE HIGH LEVEL

The Senior PC Technician monitors and responds to requests to ensure the smooth operations of computer systems and peripherals for end-users. End-users on this program are members of the US Special Forces Command at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Monitor and respond to technical hardware/software problems utilizing testing, tools, and techniques
  • Provide the user a solution with minimal calling around/returning – do the info gathering, troubleshooting, analysis, problem research on the user’s behalf.
  • Interface with various support groups to solve the user’s issue during the first call by coordinating on their behalf, bringing in additional SMEs, or clarifying specifically what needs to be done and by who (if escalation and transference is needed).
  • Assist with installation of workstation and associated hardware
  • Apply basic knowledge of PC/LAN communications hardware/software in a multi-protocol environment
  • May provide LAN server support
  • Provide IMAC requests and participate un IMAC Projects (under supervision)
  • Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines
  • Meet established service levels (SLA)
  • Install and configure applications and OS as well as upgrades
  • Install, configure, maintain desktop, laptop, or peripherals/printers
  • Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable
  • Keep up with timely and accurate timekeeping in two different systems (Iron Bow and Prime Contractor) and weekly signing/submitting the timecards

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You’ve been successful in managing user expectations and are customer-focused with good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • You are results-oriented and understand the importance of IT as it relates to your customers. You are driven to achieve program initiatives within dynamic customer environments.
  • You have strong emotional intelligence and believe it’s imperative for successful leadership. 
  • 5-7 years’ practical IT support experience; highly desirable to have the PC technician experience in a military environment especially with classified (S/TS) systems and in secure facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience
  • Security+CE or equivalent IAT II certification
  • TS/SCI clearance

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • None expected or seen on this contract but possible.
