Our volunteers are such an important part of who we are as a company and we are looking to take our volunteer experience to another level by creating a Community where Crisis Text Line Volunteers can build trusted relationships amongst each other, get expert resources, give valuable insights to the company, and better support people in their moments of need. 

We are looking for a Senior Community Programs Manager who will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of our community programs and initiatives. You will play a key role in strengthening the organization's impact by engaging with various stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and delivering high-quality programs that address the needs of our volunteer community. Reporting to the Director of Community, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the organization's community engagement efforts forward in the programs we design and implement.

Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management

  • In collaboration with the Director of Community, audit our existing community programs against our broader community strategy and align programming with Crisis Text Line’s mission and objectives to ensure community programs are aligned with broader org-wide goals 
  • Design, build, and scale innovative programs and initiatives that address volunteer needs and create impact at-scale 
  • Create community program onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Identify opportunities within our programs to surprise, delight, and show our volunteer community members how much we appreciate them
  • Act as a liaison between Crisis Text Line, volunteers, and community partners, effectively communicating program objectives, outcomes, and opportunities for collaboration
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for our program participants that encourages collaboration, creativity, and accountability

Program Evaluation and Reporting: 

  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to measure program outcomes and impact 
  • Collect and analyze data on program performance, volunteer feedback, and community trends to inform program improvements
  • Develop program timelines, budgets, and metrics to ensure successful implementation and achievement of our goals 
  • Prepare regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges for internal external stakeholders and partners 
  • Use evaluation findings to continuously improve programs, address any gaps, and adapt strategies to meet evolving community needs  

Community Strategy: 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Community to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with Crisis Text Line’s mission and objectives
  • Oversee volunteer engagement strategies and ensure volunteers participating in our programs are supported, heard, and empowered 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the volunteer community’s impact and growth, and provide recommendations for improvement 
  • Support team members on community initiatives, events, and operational processes 
  • Escalate and flag issues as needed to keep the community a trusted space

Qualifications:

  • You have 4-6+ years or previous work experience, particularly in community, customer success, customer support, program management, or project management
  • 2-4+ years of experience in community programs management, including program design, implementation, and evaluation, preferably in a volunteer-based community or non-profit organization  
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex community programs and initiatives 
  • Strong understanding of current trends in community engagement 
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in using community platforms, such as Higher Logic Vanilla, Gainsight, etc. 
  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.

The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $79,464 - $117,516per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
