Description

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be part of a 24/7 collaborative team responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response of HubSpot’s infrastructure and product systems/applications. You will be dedicated to providing a better customer experience by quickly detecting customer-impacting issues and mitigating problems in a timely manner.

 

Responsibilities

  • Managing and resolving incidents/issues from start to finish, owning initial investigation and troubleshooting to determine root cause and resolution, creating escalations as needed
  • Handling internal communication (e.g. tickets, Slack threads, etc) as well as triaging and resolving escalations from our internal engineering teams or customer support representatives and following up as needed
  • Creating and/or updating procedures, run-books, diagrams, and other documentation on a continual basis
  • Participating in a 24/7 technical support service shift schedule, including holidays and weekends

 

Qualifications

  • Have 3–5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Have experience working in an IT Ops, Systems administration, DevOps or similar role
  • Experience supporting mission-critical systems and applications
  • Have familiarity with best practices of systems architecture, design, and high-performance tuning
  • Have good communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and customer support
  • Have healthy interpersonal problem-solving skills 
  • Values building trust with peers and other teams through collaboration and learning
  • Bonus points for experience with SQL and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, shell).
