Job description

Overview:

Join the BDO family, a worldwide consulting firm where you can bring your own personality to your job! We help organizations to grow sustainably with our expertise in audit & assurance, tax & legal, advisory and accountancy.
At BDO, you take part in the journey ahead. Your wellbeing and development are just as important to us as the personal, hands-on advice and pragmatic solutions we offer our clients. Because as you grow, so do we and so do our clients. That is why our slogan is 'Let's Grow Together'!

What will you be doing?:

A day in the life

You arrive at work at your client’s office, where you’ll spend most of your time. Greeting your temporary colleagues with a smile and a warm hello, you look at your agenda and see that the analysis you’ve been working on is due today. Putting the finishing touches on it, you take the time to help one of your colleagues with that excel problem. A meeting and a lunch break later, you get an email from the BDO Management Consulting office manager reminding you of the upcoming BDO Management Consulting team event. During your afternoon workshop facilitation where you dazzle the client with your insightful remarks, you make a mental note that you must call one of the partners about the improvement opportunity you just discovered for your client. After driving home at a reasonable hour in your company car, you still have the time to go do some sports, have dinner with the family, and go out for drinks with friends where you discuss your interesting day at work.

Telecom, Energy & Utilities Sector

You will support telecom and utilities companies in their transformation journey, in their efforts to adapt themselves to the changing environment. You'll lead impactful projects, optimising operations and fostering innovation in the industry.

As a consultant, you analyze business processes, spot areas for improvements and propose solutions which are in line with your client’s strategic goals. Together with subject matter experts from the industry, you facilitate workshops to gather both business as functional requirements, perform profound impact analysis and define key assumptions and dependencies, which you all assemble in a well-structured summary.

As soon as there’s consensus on the next steps ahead, you take the initiative to push the solution forward by coordinating and supporting the activities across multiple teams, working closely with the respective project/program manager.

The context of initiatives in which you’ll operate depends on both the client needs as your area of expertise.

Is this your first experience in Telecom & Utilities and eager to get to know the industry? We got this covered, as there are many opportunities to both support the Business as being involved in Change Management activities, which help you to build your expertise.

What do you bring to the table?:
  • You have a Master's degree.
  • You have excellent knowledge in Dutch and French, and very good English language skills.
  • You’re proactive and able to mobilize people around you.
  • You go for the first-time-right solutions.
  • You’re looking for meaningful missions in the telecom, energy & utilities industry across Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. You will be based in the Zaventem office.
  • You can explain an improvement approach to your client in a profound, though accessible and manageable way.
  • Your personal motto is “learning by doing”.
  • Conscious the organization’s complexity and goals, you have an eye for people.
  • You are able to anticipate when it comes to identifying your clients’ (future) challenges.
What do we bring to the table? :
  • Start in a position focusing on Financial Institutions and discover which types of clients, duties or specialisations suit you best. After the starters days, you will build your own career along with your other new colleagues.
  • Take on increasing amounts of responsibility as the rest of your team stands by, ready to support you.
  • BDO Academy’s extensive list of training courses helps you grow both personally and professionally.
  • Sample projects from other Business Practices through our “flex pool”.
  • Options to work from home or from the nearest office, for example, and flexible working hours.
  • A competitive salary package with many attractive benefits such as a net expense allowance, company car, mobile phone plan, hospitalisation insurance, etc.
  • Work at a company with an integrated sustainability policy on issues such as climate impact and equality, diversity and inclusion, which actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Were you nodding to yourself enthusiastically as you read through the job description? Then be sure to send us your CV right away! May we soon welcome you as a new colleague!
