Job Title: Territory Manager (Vision Care Division)
Location: Maritimes - Remote
Employment Type: Contract, Full-time (Maternity Cover)
Contract End Date: September 30th 2025
Purpose:
This Territory Manager will cover Maritimes. Responsibilities include executing sales calls on eye care professionals (Opticians, Optometrists, ophthalmologists) to promote our contact lenses and contact lens solutions in a consultative selling approach – this would involve the private/independent doctor as well as retail optical locations; developing and maintaining an effective routing and zoning plan for the territory; developing and implementing account specific programs and business plans; actively participating in national and regional sales meetings; implementing and following all administrative policies and programs; assessing/analyzing doctors’ business needs to gain positioning of Bausch & Lomb products; maintaining routine call cycle of 30 calls per week; seeking opportunities for strategic business planning (expansion of B+L product utilization in an account) and portfolio selling. Incumbents must achieve successful certification from completion of home study, classroom training, preceptor ships and co-travels and examinations within the first 6 months of employment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage the territory to meet each customer’s needs through the sale of Bausch + Lomb Vision Care products
- Leverage Bausch + Lomb resources with the assistance of the Regional Business Manager
- Meet assigned quarterly and annual sales targets to achieve revenue and profit goals
- Develop and implement territory management plans to focus time and attention to achieve revenue goals and build customer relationships
- Work closely with Marketing and National Account Managers to design and implement tactical sales plans in order to execute product marketing strategy within defined financial parameters
- Assist in the development and implementation of business plans for key accounts and account-specific programs designed to meet and exceed defined goals
- Manage the growth and development of individual customer accounts. Transmit marketing and sales intelligence to appropriate Company personnel
- Develop and maintain product knowledge and value-added selling skills in accordance with established expectations and standards
Key Challenges:
- Utilize effective time management and organization skills
- Consistently reach to meet/exceed established and changing objectives
- Learn detailed technical and product information for a number of products
- Develop knowledge of the consumer/customer/retailer and demonstrate through continuous efforts to exceed their expectations
- Time and effort required to travel and call on a number of accounts on a daily basis and maintain customer database
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years’ experience in business to business sales, preferably in optical product or medical sales. Must have documented sales success. Must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the sales process
- Post- secondary education, BA or BSc preferred
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, and communication skills, both oral and written
- Proven ability to self manage time and administrative tasks (pre-post call planning, territory routing/zoning, expenses, sample accountability, etc.)
- Computer skills (Microsoft applications and intranet navigation)
- Ability to travel extensively within the large territory
- Valid driver’s licence and insurability
