What you’ll be doing

The Senior Consultant, Enterprise Communications, is responsible for providing internal and external communications consultation and support with the developing and implementing of corporate communication strategies aligned to CIBC’s business strategy. This position provides strategic communications advice, planning, and tactical support. Working with Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA) team members as well as with business partners to develop general and specific internal and external communications plans and other related communication activities.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic communications plans to support enterprise-wide communications and strategic initiatives.
  • Champion seamless integration between multiple internal teams, driving collaboration to meet tight timelines and exceed expectations for the delivery of corporate learning and special events.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in creating engaging presentations for various audiences and channels, using a variety of tools and techniques.
  • Develop compelling internal and external communications on a range of subjects, including brand and client experience.
  • Implement best practices for CIBC’s Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) team to deliver high-quality and impactful enterprise events for employees.
  • Partner and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to overcoming challenges, and employing adaptive strategies to meet and exceed project milestones.
  • Develop and execute strategic event communication plans to promote engagement, brand visibility and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans for events, establishing clear timelines, resource allocation and deliverables to ensure seamless execution from inception to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identifying risks and implementing contingency plans to maintain alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Ensure the completion of all event reporting and collection of team member feedback to continuously improve future events.
  • Provide counsel and recommendations on communications planning activities by offering recommendations on procedures and practices to improve efficiencies as well as ensuring communication strategies and tactics are successfully implemented.
