What is a Security Operations Manager?

We’re seeking an experienced security professional to take charge of overseeing and enhancing Clearcover’s robust security program. You’ll be responsible for Implementing ensuring the effectiveness of our security controls, guiding strategic direction, general security and compliance operations and nurturing a security-conscious culture across the organization.

What will you do?

  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Lead compliance efforts including, maintaining Clearcover’s SOC 2 and industry related security compliance through regular audits and policy enforcement, conducting security risk assessments and assessing vendor risks.
  • Cloud Security Program Oversight (AWS):Oversee Clearcover’s cloud security program working hand in hand with the SRE and Engineering teams to follow best practices around cloud security posture management, monitoring, alerting and issue remediation
  • Endpoint Security and IT Infrastructure:Coordinate with IT to ensure proper endpoint management and security for employee MacOS and Windows based devices as well as ensuring proper access controls for applications are secure and enforced.
  • Incident Management and Response: Serve as Incident Commander, leading security incident responses, coordinating cross-functional actions, and driving post-incident reviews to improve Clearcover’s response capabilities.
  • Data Protection and Privacy: Safeguard customer PII by implementing strict access controls, leading Data Loss Prevention (DLP) efforts, and refining data privacy policies to align with regulatory standards.
  • Security Tooling Management and Operations: Manage the security tools suite, optimizing configurations for threat detection and establishing efficient monitoring and response processes.
  • Employee Training and Awareness: Develop and lead security awareness programs, including phishing simulations and social engineering training.
  • Continuous Improvement and Automation: Identify opportunities to automate security processes, lead vulnerability management efforts, and drive continuous improvement across security operations. Piloting new tools and solutions to measure and increase security measures.


What do you need?

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices – preferably in a cloud-native and SaaS environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of network security, endpoint security, cloud infrastructure security, and identity and access management.
  • Experience in regulated industries, risk management and control framework compliance (preferably SOC 2).
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external teams in creating security solutions and controls.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively articulate concerns, collaborate with, educate and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a cross team environment.
  • Keeping up with industry standards and best practices and pragmatically applying them to continuously strengthen security stance for the organization.
  • Experience in using a variety of tools to monitor and detect security threats. Champion new tools and solutions as applicable to enhance security posture.
  • A practical, proactive and autonomous approach to security.
