USA TODAY’s Audience team is looking for an experienced, data-driven producer who will manage social video strategy across our flagship and vertical accounts. As a senior social video producer, you will be responsible for planning and executing customized social video rollouts for daily news stories, big projects, tentpole events and features.
The ideal candidate is an expert in audience growth, and can adjust platform and content strategies to increase views, engagement, and revenue. We are seeking candidates with excellent news judgment and proficiency working both independently and as part of a multi-location, multi-time zone team.
This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Drive social media video production for USA TODAY flagship and vertical accounts, including partner content, UGC, original video, live stream and promotion.
- Work with newsroom stakeholders to develop creative, original social media video projects, focused on audience growth, engagement and public service journalism.
- Coordinate with producers, editors and other stakeholders across multiple parts of the company through the entire production lifecycle, ensuring deliverables meet expectations.
- Manage daily assignments, special coverage, and future planning and programming.
- Work with deputy managing editor of social to set measures of success and develop social video strategy, including assessment of revenue opportunities.
- Track audience behavior to help inform ongoing content production and distribution strategies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years producing video for newsrooms or digital outlets, breaking news experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, LucidLink, CapCut, and social in-app editing tools.
- Experience in social media marketing, social and site analytics, social listening, or social media or community management.
- Strong writing and SEO background.
- Experience with digital and production equipment and video workflows.
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Figma, or other graphic design tools.
- Experience managing social media influencers and influencer strategy.
- Experience analyzing social and site analytics, and generating reports.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $38,700 and $93,150 . Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
