Job Description:

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an experienced Business Analyst who will work with business and IT stakeholders, and third parties to define and document business requirements supporting project implementations. The Business Analyst is a senior role with expectations to be comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with business areas throughout the organization to understand the business case and primary objectives of new projects;
  • Evaluate potential software solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and enterprise infrastructure and security standards;
  • Lead detailed business requirements sessions eliciting input from stakeholders and subject matter experts;
  • Perform gap analysis and translate findings into business process and/or system requirements;
  • Create business requirements documentation and coordinate walk-throughs ensuring requirements acceptance and approval;
  • Articulate, prioritize and manage requirements through the project lifecycle to ensure business area satisfaction;
  • Support the QA team’s delivery of test strategy and plan documentation including test scripts and defect management;
  • Contribute to the post project implementation support deliverables;
  • Support the ongoing development of our project methodology and related deliverables; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Business analytics and process improvement;

  • Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry is an asset.

Top Skills Necessary

  • Previous financial services or banking experience – 3+ years of Financial Services experience. Any financial services project experience will suffice including regulatory, compliance, any application implementation, enhancement or upgrade.
  • Hands-on experience with fintech technologies – 3+ years of experience working with fintech technologies. Dataphile and FNZ are examples, however this team supports over 30 Fintech applications so it isn’t so much about the specific application as it is experience with fintech technologies in general.
  • 7+ years of experience ensuring appropriate relationship between scope, detailed requirements, project artifacts and testing to define and document SDLC projects (hybrid waterfall).
  • 7+ years of experience providing business analysis expertise, including requirement gathering, current/future state/gap analysis, to identify, plan and execute key business improvements and implementations
