The Global Decarbonization Hub (GDH) falls under the Global ESG umbrella. The Global Decarbonisation Hub acts as an accelerator to the growth of our global Climate Change, Decarbonization and Nature (CDN) business with four priorities:
- Supporting member firms, accounts and sector teams with targeted business development activities, client conversations, proposals and delivery using our sector-specific insights and deep decarbonization expertise.
- Globalising KPMG’s offerings across the climate change, decarbonization and nature agenda through the scaling of services, solutions, technologies and methodologies. Tailoring these for sectors and geographies as required.
- Managing a global climate community, driving a number of connected networks and working groups across the firm sharing knowledge and insights to build climate change, decarbonisation and nature capability in member firms, regions and globally.
- Growing KPMG’s brand and reputation in the climate change, decarbonization and nature space through cutting edge thought leadership, major external events, active social media presence and other targeted marketing activities.
Role Summary
The Global Decarbonization Hub Assistant Manager will directly support our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as they drive KPMG’s Climate Change, Decarbonisation and Nature (CDN) propositions, supporting our Member Firms (MFs) to sell and deliver CDN services to their most important clients. The Assistant Manager will focus particularly on Decarbonisation, assisting GDH SMEs as they support MFs with proposals through to bid stage and delivery, helping MFs to succeed in their pitches for our largest and most important opportunities globally. The Assistant Manager will also support the GDH's SMEs to globalise KPMG’s offerings across the Decarbonisation agenda, collaborating with our global network and building KPMG’s reputation as a CDN services leader.
Key Accountability
Clients:
- Support member firms with strategically important proposals, pitches and client delivery work
- Support and contribute to KPMG's growth plans by working with sectors, functions and SMEs to leverage resources which will enable partners and all KPMG colleagues to initiate conversations related to Decarbonisation with clients
- Work closely together with the GDH knowledge manager to gather client credentials and materials
Market Solutions:
- Develop decarbonisation solution methodologies, GTM approach and execute roll out plans
- Assist with development and roll out of Decarbonization Tech solutions
Capability:
- Support various Decarbonization working groups, networks and Global Community calls
- Help with member firm solutions roll out and training
- Collaborate with other Global and Regional Hubs as well as our pillars across Global ESG to ensure we have integrated end-to-end offerings and one consistent narrative
Brand:
- Help with the coordination of activities in the lead up to major events (e.g. COP)
- Assist with the drafting of Decarbonization thought leadership pieces
- Provide support to SMEs in preparation for meetings and events
- Help promote our brand in the market so that KPMG is recognised as a leader in CDN services
Experience & Knowledge
- Have an understanding of, and passion for, the climate change agenda
- Have experience of working in a climate-related field and a solid understanding of decarbonisation solutions
- Have experience and technical knowledge of decarbonisation strategy across sectors
- Have experience of managing multiple workstreams and a proven ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks with competing priorities
- Have experience in business development or consulting, particularly in the area of origination, bids and pursuits and have a commerical mindset
- Have excellent communication, analytical and planning skills
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage, influence, build networks and relationships across key stakeholders
- Have excellent presentation skills, especially with senior audiences, with the ability to present information in a clear and effective manner
- Have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership, with the ability to work independently and to pursue tasks through to completion with energy, initiative and enthusiasm
- Be a strong team player and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver projects and tasks effectively
- Be resilient and able to demonstrate perseverance and tenacity under pressure
- Have a track record of making things happen at scale either at KPMG or in the market
Technical Skills, Abilities & Qualifications
- Solid educational background and qualifications (degree or formal business qualification in a climate-related field highly desirable)
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills essential, with modelling skills desirable
- Business development skills and experience desirable
