We're looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our team! At Firstup, we believe engineering is a craft where the internal elegance of our technology should match our exceptional user experience. As we rapidly grow, you'll lead our mobile engineering initiatives while collaborating with customers to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You'll play a key role in enhancing our mobile user experience, app performance, and reliability as you expand your scope to lead key platform-wide initiatives.We embrace an autonomous team structure, where you'll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and fellow engineers. ResponsibilitiesLead and grow our mobile team by instilling and advocating best practicesCreate an environment of collaboration and innovation - engineering is a team sport at FirstupGuide the development of our iOS and Android platformsDrive technical excellence in mobile development while extending your influence to cross-platform and automation initiativesDevelop career paths and manage performance for your team membersContribute to engineering-wide strategy as part of the engineering management teamChampion mobile best practices while maintaining high standards for quality and testingBridge mobile and web platform initiatives to ensure consistent user experiencesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experienceExperience managing mobile engineering teams developing enterprise-grade iOS and Android applicationsTrack record of leading teams through complex technical challenges and delivery of major featuresStrong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, CI/CD practices, and platform-specific best practicesExperience with iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin, Java) developmentPrevious hands-on experience as a Mobile Software EngineerUnderstanding of broader web technologies and architectures (REST APIs, availability, scale, etc)Excellent communication skillsFirstup expects the base salary for this role to be between $160,000-$180,000 USD. The starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
