How you'll make a difference?
Billing Specialist is responsible for all billing all health insurance claims accurately and timely and will assist in resolving all claim rejections. The position requires a diligent individual with strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
What will your duties and responsibilities be?
The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned. Able to follow all work instructions to back up co-workers with all billing tasks.
Strong ability to apply payer requirements to ensure claims are submitted timely for billing - Primary, Secondary, etc. payers.
Strong understanding of Payer’s billing requirements (Federal & Commercial) and how to apply to billing tasks with limited guidance.
Advanced knowledge of navigating payer websites
Analyze Medical documents as needed to ensure accurate billing.
Assist peers with account resolution as needed.
Demonstrate effective interactions with peers and managements; maintain effective communication lines/methods; engage management to help in solving problems as needed.
Make daily decisions on how to bill according to established guidelines using strong knowledge of different billing types – Electronic, payer web billing, and hard copy bills.
Request information from other department that is needed for completion of billing.
Resolve HCFA/Billing issues, with limited guidance from teammates/manuals.
Respond to emails accurately and timely.
Responsible for managing and resolving assigned tasks in timely and effective manner through oracle and other systems and processes.
Responsible for managing their Ready to Bill Tasks to ensure claims are billed in a timely manner to meet department goals.
Setup new payers and update tables.
Working knowledge of EDI rejection terminology to be able to resolve rejections with limited guidance.
Use EDI terminology to work with IT and clearinghouses and payer to resolve issues.
Understand and promote Compliance adherence.
Timely Completion of all corporate and departmental training.
Promote and exude a positive work environment.
Regular Attendance required.
What skills and experience will you need?

Education/Certifications:
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
Strong understanding of ICD-10 and how is applies to Orthofix products.
Strong understanding of medical billing terminology
Excellent teamwork behaviors while abiding by Orthofix code of conduct.
Strong time management, organizational skills and written skills.
Strong utilization of computer skills. Able to run various programs with ease.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professionalism in all internal and external communications.
Strong Ability to handle multiple priorities and heavy volume while meeting all deadlines.
3-5 years Medical Billing
Detail oriented with emphasis on quality and timeliness.
Strong work ethic – supervision is minimal, yet assistance will be readily available as needed from leadership and other team members.

The anticipated base hourly rate for this position is $19.00 to $24.00 per hour, plus bonus, and benefits. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
