About the role
You want to take on a new challenge within a dynamic team. You are passionate about risk control and care about the customer experience. We are looking for a Senior Consultant, Risk Control, for our national remote risk assessment team in telework!
As a Senior Risk Control Consultant, Property and Liability, your work will have a significant impact on our commercial clients through the technical consultations and analyses that you will carry out.
You collaborate, among other things, with our clients and partners to implement sustainable prevention measures to help our clients manage their exposure to risks.
Permanent position in Telework 35h.
What you will accomplish with us:
Responsible for conducting remote assessments and virtual self-assessments of medium and sometimes complex risks in collaboration with our insureds and various partners by focusing on the required improvements in risk control and risk control according to industry best practices.
Educate policyholders on sound risk management by providing technical advice on risk management and risk control.
Write quality reports related to the analyses performed and formulate recommendations based on company policies and technical expertise. Follow up with policyholders, underwriters and brokers.
Answer technical questions. Advise underwriters, brokers and other partners on the consistent application of our company's risk control guidelines.
Work with emerging technology tools and processes to gather the information needed for remote risk analysis.
Actively participate in the implementation of strategic projects for the department as well as the continuous improvement of our guidelines and processes.
Meet or exceed productivity objectives and quality of service standards in risk control.
What you will bring to the table:
University degree in science, or any combination of equivalent training and experience will be considered (claims, underwriting, architecture, building mechanics, etc.)
Hold a college diploma (DEC) or an attestation of college studies (AEC) and/or a university certificate (TAPI) in fire prevention.
Holding a TPI, PAA and/or CRM professional designation is an asset.
At least 5 years of experience in risk control or a related field in commercial lines insurance.
In-depth knowledge of risk control principles and techniques for property, assets and liability.
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for fire protection and construction (electrical code, NFPA, FM, CNB, etc.).
Excellent listening and observation skills with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills in a remote environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Highly adaptable to change.
Very good knowledge of emerging technologies in remote risk assessment (virtual self-assessment applications, computer vision, imaging, etc.) and online information retrieval techniques.
Very good computer skills including proficiency in Office suite applications, third-party communications applications such as Zoom, Webex, MS Teams and online research.
Bilingualism an asset since you would have to communicate across Canada including French speaking insured or underwriters.
The candidate will have to plan occasional travel for meetings and training.
