This is an exciting opportunity to join Moderna’s Global Commercial MESH Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, a key part of our rapidly evolving organization that is transforming the biotech industry. The Global Commercial FP&A Lead will be responsible for consolidating global revenue and operating expenses while championing data-driven decision-making. As a vital link in global reporting, this role will oversee the delivery of standardized reporting and analytics for commercial and medical sales forecasting, while ensuring efficiency and agility within FP&A processes. This role reports directly to the FP&A leadership team and will lead two principal analysts.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the global consolidation of revenue and operating expenses, fostering a standardized approach to monthly commercial and medical sales forecasting.

  • Support monthly forecasting and budgeting within FP&A, aligning with Moderna’s strategic objectives.

  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses, focusing on revenue scenario modeling to guide decision-making across the organization.

  • Drive continuous improvements in financial functions by adopting and integrating advanced technologies for optimized data flow and operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Manage global reporting for a broad stakeholder group, including commercial, medical, human resources, and finance teams.

  • Spearhead initiatives to standardize and automate reporting processes, with a focus on master data governance and consistency.

  • Anticipate and fulfill reporting requirements for critical corporate activities, such as forecasts, long-range planning (LRP), and budgeting, by working closely with cross-functional finance and operational teams.

  • Question Convention: In this role, you will be at the forefront of adopting advanced reporting tools and integrating new FP&A technologies, questioning conventional approaches to drive streamlined solutions in financial planning.

  • We Act with Dynamic Range: This role requires versatility in managing both strategic planning and tactical execution, from high-level forecasting to detailed analysis, ensuring robust support for both executive decision-making and daily operations.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • BA/BS in accounting or Finance required

  • 7+ years of FP&A experience; life sciences industry experience preferred

  • Experience in building Tableau dashboards

  • Experience with tier 1 ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and planning and reporting tools preferred

  • Solid understanding of P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet statements, their drivers; and experience modeling their interdependencies

  • This role is expected to be in office 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30%.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience building and maintaining robust & dynamic financial models

  • Proficiency with excel; experience working with VBA/macros preferred

  • Proven track record of building efficiencies and automation into existing and new process

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to balance multiple priorities in a very fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and presentation skills including to Executive Management
