U.S. Financial Planning & Analysis partners with the business lines and other functional groups to provide insight and analysis. Our core responsibilities include business performance measurement and assessment, analyzing results and recommending improvements; Support the planning and forecasting processes. Our bank relies on our group to make better decisions, plan for the future, and effectively manage its balance sheet and business as a whole.
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for analysis of projects and cost centers, and includes partnering with operational team members. The role applies analysis to provide a detailed explanation of CIBC’s financial results to support the development and updating project financials. This role is also responsible for business case and change requests, and requires the ability to understand and follow complex instructions. The Sr. Financial Analyst must be able to analyze multiple scenarios of data to complete ad hoc financial research, analysis and reporting for the project both projects and cost centers. The ability to interact and manage successful and effective relationships at all levels of the organization is a critical component of this position.

Responsibilities:
- Work with assigned groups to develop and submit budget/forecasts.
- Produce & explain monthly reporting packages.
- Participate in month-end close process.
- Understand and manage balance sheet analysis for project accruals.
- Work with business counterparts to deliver Business Cases/Change Requests
- Assist to define and document new processes/solutions for complex reporting requirements.
- Represent US Finance in cross-functional meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ Years of experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Essbase experience is a plus.
- SAP experience is a plus
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Client focused and is able to anticipate the need of the internal client in a manner that shows a commitment to continuous improvement and delivers high quality output.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
