This position plays a supporting role on the Real Estate Services team for the American Red Cross (ARC). The Sr. Power BI Data Analyst shall be responsible for data analysis specific to Real Estate Costs across 950 sites with an estimated 10 million square feet, ARC owns, leases and receives donated facilities of office, industrial, and retail types.

American Red Cross is hiring an experienced Sr. Power BI Data Analyst for the Real Estate Department.  This role involves assisting the Power BI Developer for interpreting functional requirements into technical designs for BI solutions utilizing Power BI and related tools.  The Analyst will assist managing monthly reporting needs and being a backup for reporting outages.

Ideal candidates should have experience with corporate real estate databases, proficiency in Power BI, and strong Excel and financial analysis skills. This position will play a key role in providing key metrics and analysis of all real estate data and will also support creating financial models for the regions to help decide the ROI on future capital spend. The role demands an analytical, detail- oriented professional who can work independently, assist the reporting team, and maintain stakeholder relationships.

The position involves managing the data mainly using Power BI platform, systems and processes from multiple sources to maintain integrity of the information being used to set, track and make Real Estate decisions.  Under minimal supervision, develop and execute fact-based reporting, analysis, dashboards, and analytical models to improve decision-making. Monitor KPIs, analyze performance data, and work in cross functional teams to influence improvements, to include benchmarking, market analysis and environmental scanning. Gather metrics and drive processes to operationalize reporting, track performance indicators and build dashboards to proactively highlight opportunities and recommend solutions. Interpret and present program performance analysis to key stakeholders and executives to influence strategic data-driven decisions

Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis and support for Business Analytics Department while we support our clients Strategic Planning, Operations Support, Transaction Management and Portfolio Administration groups. Manages cross-functional relationships across Real Estate Services to ensure all requested reporting meets end-to-end business support needs. Create and prepare a cost/Benefit commercial Real estate NPV financial Model to help decide the ROI on any future capital spend for the ARC real estate portfolio.  Tracking actual and analyzing performance is expected to contribute to continuous improvement and reporting of results.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze real estate data using Power BI.
  • Design, develop and manage business intelligence solutions using Power BI with the ability to transform raw data into meaningful insights that drive business decisions.
  • Design and develop data models that support Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Use Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to transform, cleanse and structure data for analysis
  • Optimize data models to ensure efficient performance and scalability
  • Create visually compelling and interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Develop custom visualizations to meet specific business requirements
  • Implement drilldowns, filters and slicers to enhance user activity
  • Implement scheduled data refreshes to keep reports up to date
  • Collaborate with business stakeholder to gather and document reporting requirements
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into technical specifications for Power BI solutions
  • Identify bottlenecks such as slow queries or inefficient data models
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues that arise during formal testing or in production
  • Supporting Business Analytics team to report our monthly RES dashboard on time and accurately
    • Drives accountability to ensure successful on time and accurate monthly reports
    • Develop complex modeling and reporting tools or exceptions for monitoring and analyzing performance or data integrity
    • Making and updating our system of record CoStar with any data exceptions or working with clients to make necessary updates for month end reporting
    • Conduct testing to validate the accuracy and functionality of the Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Ability to analyze, predict trends, and summarize and present conclusions based on the findings and to provide recommendations to senior management and leadership.
  • Create and prepare a cost/Benefit commercial Real estate NPV financial Model to help decide the ROI on any future capital spend for the ARC Real Estate Portfolio.
  • Manages cross-functional relationships across Real Estate Services to ensure all requested reporting meets end-to-end business support needs.
  • Ensure that all procedures and processing are in compliance with current audit requirements and updates internal SOP’s and process flows
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years in commercial/ corporate real estate
  • 2 years Professional Power BI Reporting Experience
  • Experience visualizing data in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
  • Expertise in developing Power BI Solutions
  • NPV Modeling experience
  • Advanced Excel skills Required
  • Experience with CoStar our RES database
  • Demonstrated ease with systems, process and data management
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building, collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving, time management and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively present information in concise and relevant terms for quick business decisions
  • Process and systems savvy, with an ability to guide and train others

Skills & Abilities: Must have high attention to detail. Advanced skills in Excel required. May require advanced knowledge of technical skills (e.g. Python, Power BI, PowerPivot, etc.). Ability to work on a team.

Travel: May require some travel.

PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**
