Reports To: Cyber Security Lead

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Hybrid (1 day office based, Richmond)

About the role:

We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst who will actively participate in threat hunting across MOTORS corporate systems and production environments (including the company websites). This involves proactively searching for vulnerabilities, suspicious activities, and potential security threats, ensuring quick detection and response. You'll work closely with IT Operations and Technology teams to address these risks and ensure the business remains protected from emerging threats.

In addition, you will support the implementation of MOTORS Infosec and Data Management programs. You will help ensure compliance with legal, business requirements, and GDPR policies and procedures. The successful candidate will play an important role in identifying compliance gaps, tracking issues, and assisting in the mitigation of potential security risks, as well as supporting the business in managing security incidents and data breaches.

You will proactively support the management of Information Security, Data Protection, and Risk by helping assess, onboard, and maintain industry-standard frameworks. You will also stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct regular threat-hunting activities across corporate and production systems to detect potential vulnerabilities or suspicious activity.
  • Perform remediation of potential vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in managing the Information Security & Data Governance program for MOTORS.
  • Monitor and track security and GDPR compliance across both platforms.
  • Participate in internal compliance audits and security reviews.
  • Support ongoing employee training programs on security and GDPR compliance.
  • Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to build strong security partnerships.
  • Assist in reporting and providing updates on the security posture of the company to the InfoSec team.
  • Help maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans, including assisting with scheduled testing.
  • Provide guidance on Information Security matters across teams to ensure security considerations are integrated into processes.
  • Support the InfoSec, IT Operations and Technology teams in embedding Security by Design principles within the product lifecycle.

Ideally, we are looking for;

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in a cybersecurity or related role.
  • Experience with security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP).
  • Familiarity with security incident response processes.
  • Experience with threat-hunting techniques across corporate and production environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in Azure Cloud security, including configuring and managing security controls in Microsoft Azure, Azure Security Centre, and Azure Sentinel, with a strong understanding of Microsoft security solutions such as Microsoft Defender and Identity Protection.
  • Understanding of security compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI) and best practices.
  • Experience assisting with internal audits and compliance assessments.
  • Basic understanding of data protection regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to promote the adoption of information security practices.
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications or willingness to pursue them (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001, CISSP, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating security tasks and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with container security, including Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Familiarity with conducting security testing (e.g., vulnerability assessments, penetration testing) to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Knowledge of securing both Mac and Windows operating systems, including best practices for endpoint protection and incident response.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and understanding cloud-native security tools and practices.
