About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Data to lead and manage a team of Data Scientists. This leader will play a critical role in developing and executing data strategies that align with our client's mission of fostering financial inclusion. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in credit risk assessment for the retail sector and demonstrate strong leadership, a passion for learning, and an ability to drive innovative solutions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Scientists, ensuring productivity and professional growth.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data-driven models that provide actionable insights to clients in banking, insurance, HR and other industries.
  • Leverage your experience to enhance the effectiveness of predictive models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and engineering, to integrate data solutions seamlessly with company offerings.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI, Machine Learning, and behavioral sciences, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Drive the strategic direction for data management and analytics to support business objectives and client success.
  • Support business development efforts by presenting data-driven solutions and collaborating with potential clients on custom projects.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

Required Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience managing a data team, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Must have extensive experience working in the banking or insurance industry, particularly in credit risk assessment for retail sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with advanced data science methodologies, AI, and Machine Learning applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply concepts from behavioral sciences.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for mission-driven work.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in diverse cultural environments, particularly in Asia.
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field is highly preferred.
