Location: Volvo Penta, UK (Remote and On-site flexibility)
Travel: Frequent UK travel to OEM sites and partner locations and occasional travel to Sweden

Are you ready to take your engineering degree to the next level?
Volvo Penta is offering a Postgraduate Apprenticeship of up to 3 years where you will work alongside an experienced team to gain hands-on experience and tackle real-world challenges. In addition to your professional workplace development, from October 2025 you will enrol on the Through-life Engineering Services Specialist MSc in partnership with Cranfield University—a unique opportunity to earn while you learn and work towards a master’s degree. This apprenticeship is more than just a stepping-stone; it is a solid foundation for an extraordinary career in engineering.
Who are you?
You are a recent graduate of a related engineering discipline OR have completed an undergraduate degree in any engineering discipline which has transferrable skill sets and knowledge.
It is preferable (but not essential) that you have previous experience in the engineering workplace gained either through an undergraduate placement/sandwich year or relevant work experience.
You’re a confident communicator who can adapt to various audiences, from customers to engineers at all levels. You enjoy problem-solving in a logical manner and love asking the right questions to get to the root of an issue. Passionate about new technologies like electric mobility, you are driven by innovation and eager to learn.

The Volvo Penta Team
Totalling 26 members across the multiple Volvo Penta UK & Ireland segments and departments, you will be working alongside and learning from an inclusive team of knowledgeable and skilled professionals from a diverse variety of backgrounds. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes Business Development Managers, Service Engineers, and Warranty Specialists.
You will be shadowing Service Engineers who have either previously completed this graduate program or are graduates of Volvo Group apprenticeships
The Day to Day
This isn’t just any apprenticeship – it’s a career path. You’ll work with a diverse customer base, from leisure craft owners to commercial vehicle operators, giving you the chance to make a tangible impact across industries. With exciting travel opportunities across the UK, this role is perfect for someone looking to blend hands-on experience with the convenience of working remotely.
- Providing technical support to OEMs and business partners
- Support the transition from diesel to electric mobility
- Work on live projects, focusing on fault-finding and issue resolution
- Managing quality campaigns and tracking aftermarket cases
- Collaborating on product quality reports and technical issue resolution
- Supporting the Business Development Team in advising on technical competence and training
- Participating in shows, exhibitions, and industry events
- Offering technical backup to dealers and addressing warranty claims
