Fieldpiece is hiring a General Manager to lead sales growth in Australia. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll set up the necessary infrastructure to replicate our successful business model, lead sales activities, manage a small team, and be responsible for P&L and operations. This is a unique opportunity for you to build the business and make a big impact in the Australian market.
The ideal candidate
You’re an energetic sales leader, communicator, and strategic visionary with the business acumen to grow and manage a new territory. You’re a creative and hands-on individual with a track record of success in sales and leading people. You have an HVACR background and/or sold physical products - tools, equipment, instruments, electronics - through a distribution network.
While this position is remote with heavy travel, you must be based near Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and deploy a long-term strategy, sales plans, and marketing solutions for sustainable double-digit growth.
- Develop and manage all pricing and programming plans.
- Actively participate in community events and activities as a company representative and ensures a positive image of the company/brand.
- Provide leadership, support, and collaborative focus to the sales effort on a regional scale.
- Coordinate with Corporate Management on the plan, revision, and implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
- Forecast sales, monitor results, and report on effectiveness of sales staff activities.
- Prepare and monitor sales budget, and report on the performance of the Australian P&L.
Leadership responsibilities
- An inspirational leader with two direct reports in the department. Manages in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business equivalent; MBA preferred.
- Proven leadership and business acumen skills, including experience managing a consolidated P&L.
- 10+ years of consultative sales experience – preferably in a distributor model.
- 2+ years of experience leading and motivating small teams. Team player and collaborator.
- Creative, flexible, and innovative with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills and a commitment to high standards.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences.
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Results oriented – has track record for delivery results, takes ownership and is accountable.
- Stretch oriented – embraces and thrives on challenging goals and targets.
- Continuous improvement and process oriented – familiarity with lean principles, engaging with customers in problem solving and how to apply them in a measurable and sustainable way
- Customer Service oriented – high sense of urgency on providing timely high-quality service
