What you will do:

As a Senior Manager, Business Development, you will be responsible for the leadership of BD transactions (Mergers & Acquisitions) under the supervision of the Trauma & Extremities (T&E) BD leader, which will include the coordination of due diligence activities of multiple projects. You will provide advice to T&E Leadership Team on the strategy and execution of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances.   

  • Lead BD/M&A transactions under the supervision of the T&E BD leader

  • Lead team of business partners, both inside and outside the T&E Division, through diligence, integration planning, and other aspects of the corporate M&A process

  • Manage the coordination of multiple M&A programs at the same time

  • Identify, research, and analyze market segments and new business opportunities for the T&E division and the Orthopaedics and Spine Group, including investments, joint ventures, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A)

  • Work closely with target companies and related entities on M&A or other partnership opportunities

  • Perform strategic and financial analyses of target companies, including different transaction types and deal structures

  • Develop and run comprehensive financial models and analyses, including pro formas, company valuations, business operating plans, projected investment returns, scenario analyses

  • Establish robust business cases to drive decision making. Analysis will include market assessment, competitor analysis, pricing strategies, and cost structure analysis

  • Plan and execute transactions including negotiations with third parties, overseeing the drafting of related agreements, integration planning, and securing internal approvals

What you need:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required for this role.

  • MBA or other post-graduate degree preferred

  • PMP certification preferred

  • 10 years of work experience is needed for this position.

  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in either Finance, Valuations, Accounting, Engineering and/or Marketing with a multi-national company, investment bank, or VC/PE firm; preferably in the areas of medical device, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and/or other life sciences is also needed to be a qualified candidate.

  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with potential partners representing technologies/products in varying stages of development in a sales capacity is preferred.

  • Demonstrated project management skills is preferred.

  • $126,500 - $279,500 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 30%
