Job description

We are seeking a dependable Bookkeeper to manage daily financial transactions and guarantee precise record maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating the general ledger, preparing trial balances, and ensuring compliance with tax requirements. They will also monitor cash flow and produce financial reports to support management in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
  • Meticulous record-keeping of financial transactions.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations in Australia, UK, or US.
  • Familiarity with IFRS or GAAP accounting standards.
  • Basic understanding of cross-border transactions and their accounting implications.
  • Knowledge of currency exchange rates and their impact on financial records.
  • Basic understanding of international tax laws and regulations.
  • Process vendor invoices and payments.
  • Track customer payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process payroll, including taxes and deductions.
  • Prepare basic financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and anomalies.

Requirements:

  • Preferred qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Proven bookkeeping experience or a similar role in accounting is advantageous. 
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero is beneficial. 
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel and other financial tools is expected, along with a basic understanding of accounting principles and practices. 
  • The ability to adapt to changing financial conditions, processes, and technologies in a dynamic work environment is also necessary.
