What will you do?

A day in the life of an Accounting Manager at VF looks a little like this.

As part of VF Accounting team, the Brand Accounting Manager is responsible for the complex financial reporting for the specified brand.  This position provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data for the brand and provides insights on best practices by collaborating with various internal groups.  This role is also key in developing analysts within the brand team to propel overall success of the group.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Achieves financial objectives by managing monthly and year-end closing process for the specified brand; analyzing expense variances; analyzing & approving account reconciliations; proposing corrective actions to Controller. 
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends. Maintains accurate brand financial statements consistent with Coalition reporting guidelines and in accordance with GAAP.  
  • Prepares asset, liability, and P&L entries by compiling and analyzing account information.  
  • Provides appropriate and complete financial analysis and documentation behind account information and activity. Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Proposes opportunities for improvements in financial procedures and controls and participates in implementation.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.  
  • Supports brand leadership in analyzing and understanding financial variances. Provide recommendations to Controller and Brand CFO from the financial analyses performed.
  • Mentors accounting staff by providing individual guidance and technical expertise. Assists with training new employees.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required for this position. Additionally, ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Advanced Excel and PC skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and resolve complex issues
  • Location requirement: While this position is fully remote, the ideal candidate will reside within Wisconsin.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • CPA certification
  • SAP experience

Hiring Range:

$72,000.00 USD - $90,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
