Work Arrangement
This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, Michigan, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
The Role
General Motors is seeking a dynamic and talented Content Creator to join our GM Brand Social team. In this role, you will play a key role in bringing fresh content ideas and opportunities to our company social handles and be our on-screen talent, embodying GM’s voice and bringing our brand stories to life. You will identify trends, spearhead new series, and work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute innovative content that enhances GM’s brand presence and connects with our diverse audience.
What You’ll Do
Content Planning & Execution: Creatively ideate, plan, and execute content strategies that align with brand objectives, ensuring timely delivery and consistency across all social channels.
Content Creation & Capture: Facilitate and manage opportunities for on-location and studio-based social content creation across GM’s vehicle lineup, brand initiatives, and key campaigns.
On-Screen Talent: Serve as the primary on-screen personality for GM’s social media content, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and authenticity to our brand’s storytelling.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with social strategy, communications, product, and marketing teams to identify and develop compelling stories and capture high-quality, shareable content that resonates with our audience.
Trend Spotting & Adaptation: Stay updated on the latest social media trends, platform updates, and creative best practices to ensure GM remains at the forefront of social innovation.
Performance Tracking: Monitor content performance metrics to optimize future content, identify high-performing content types, and refine storytelling techniques.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
On-Camera Presence: Demonstrated experience as on-screen talent with strong storytelling abilities and a natural, engaging presence.
Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to bring fresh ideas to content development and quickly adapt to feedback in a creative, solutions-oriented manner.
Social Media Proficiency: In-depth understanding of key social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn), including content strategies tailored to each platform.
Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate content calendars, and plan shoots effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team settings.
Collaborative Mindset: Experience collaborating with brand, communications, and product teams to align on content strategies and storytelling approaches.
Ability to travel 25% of the time within the United States.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Proven Content Impact: Track record of creating and publishing social media content that has achieved significant platform virality (1M+ views) and/or resulted in earned media pickup.
Data-Driven Approach: Experience using analytics tools to monitor and evaluate content performance, informing future strategies and optimizations.
Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to bring fresh ideas to content development and quickly adapt to feedback in a creative, solutions-oriented manner.
Video Production & Editing: Basic video production and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or mobile editing tools).

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
The salary range for this role is $67,900 to $104,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
