Job Summary
With general guidance, the EH&S Specialist provides day-to-day guidance on environmental, health and safety for designated sites and ensures compliance with all requirements and regulations. This position will oversee a designated region dependent on location and provide dedicated support to that region.
Job Responsibilities
Provides EH&S administrative and practical support
Oversees OSHA injury tracking and posting requirements
Chairs Safety Committee and provides guidance on short and long term company goals
Conducts Safety Observations and Audits to improve work processes and ensure adherence to Policies and Procedures
Ensures proper reporting and record-keeping practices are consistently followed by center leads
Identifies and implements best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process hazards, and raise safety awareness
Provides daily EH&S guidance, mainly at the employee and supervisor levels
Reviews and manages accidents and incidents. Provides and maintains documentation, classifies incidents, and reports and manages corrective actions. Drives efforts to identify the root cause of the accident or incident.
Coordinates regulatory programs and applications to support compliance, such as monitoring air quality and noise levels. Coordinates inspections by regulatory agencies and ensures any deficiencies are addressed in the required time frame.
Ensures employees, contractors and visitors follow safe work practices.
Partners with internal crossover department leaders to drive improvement across all levels.
Provides safety-related training that is either general or group-specific
Manages, maintains and promotes EH&S communications through varied avenues, including the safety website and postings.
Maintains an awareness of the current and developing safety, health and environmental policies and procedures and applies them to all assignments and tasks. Instructs colleagues on relevant safe practices.
Supports the Employee Health department as necessary.
Adheres to the Company standards and procedures to ensure quality of work and security of all data.
Proactively, positively and constructively supports the Crossover Health mission. Acts as a role model in carrying out job duties, demonstrating a strong work ethic, solid communication, creative problem solving and a focus on results.
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
2+ years related experience
Strong knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA)
Preferred Qualifications
Able to work in an independent and self-directed manner
Ability to use strong judgment without clear direction in the best interest of the company
Detail driven with broad-based problem solving abilities and awareness of big picture directions and initiative
Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision
Ability to analyze, problem-solve, scope requirements and prioritize multiple projects
Physical Job Requirements
Expected to travel independently 50% of the time.
May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.
Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Includes full range of body motion.
Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively communicate with team members.
The base pay range for this position is $64,699.00 to $74,404.00 per year. Pay range may vary depending on work location, applicable knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off and 401K.
