Job description

Underground Solutions, Inc. is looking for an experienced Shop Manager.

Underground Solutions, a subsidiary of Azuria Water Solutions, is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in the water infrastructure and electrical conduit market with a portfolio of proprietary and patented technologies targeting water and wastewater infrastructure improvement and undergrounding of electrical conduit.

  • Perform preventative and non-scheduled maintenance, including inspecting, repairing, and/or replacing components and systems on shop equipment and operation of equipment, monitor progress of all current and pending projects

  • Perform repairs and routine maintenance on equipment to include hydraulics, electrical, robotics, and other components

  • Perform equipment evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment

  • Must be a qualified welder and able to fabricate company products on schedule

  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems as needed

  • Completes daily maintenance and repair logs

  • Moves machinery as required

  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories

  • Maintains work area, equipment, and tools in a safe, clean, and orderly condition at all times

  • Ensure the best efficiency and quality of repairs are performed

  • Consistently deliver knowledge, advice, and answer questions and concerns of our field staff

  • Communicate and maintain good relations with manufacturing representatives

  • Provide frequent progress reports in order to improve results

  • Follow and abide by all industry standards, regulations, and laws

  • Help train new employees in company procedures, including safety and work processes

  • Stay up to date on industry standards and any new innovations, materials, tools and/or processes that can benefit the company

  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • 5 years of welding and fabrication experience

  • Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical

  • Proficient in the use of online systems and computer software

  • Ability to read, analyze interpret, understand, and follow electrical wiring diagrams and schematics, blueprints, and fabrication drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with results oriented in customer service management. In addition, must be a strong communicator and be able to take the initiative to function without day-to-day guidance

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Apply common understanding to carry out sense in order to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and lead a team and collaborate effectively with coworkers

  • Motivated self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative, be an effective leader, and drive results

  • Ability to independently work, manage, prioritize and ensure completion of all maintenance activities with minimal supervision in a timely manner

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations

  • Must be able to use independent judgement and initiative to complete tasks in a timely and safe manner
