As a Restoration and Remediation Consultant, you have professional experience in assisting clients in recovering from cyber incidents, restoring compromised systems, and implementing effective remediation strategies. You enjoy working closely with Digital Forensic and Incident Response (DFIR) teams to ensure clients can swiftly recover from incidents, minimize downtime, and enhance their overall cybersecurity posture.  

How You'll Make an Impact 

The R&R Consultant will work closely with the Director of Restoration and Remediation, R&R team members, the Digital Forensic and Incident Response team. They will play a critical role in post-incident recovery, working alongside the DFIR team to restore systems and secure infrastructures after cyber incidents. Through meticulous remediation efforts and application of technical expertise, they’ll help clients regain operational stability and strengthen their defenses against future threats

Your Role in Action 
  • Provide post-incident recovery and collaborate with the DFIR team to assess the scope and impact of cyber incidents. 
  • Participate in efforts to restore compromised systems to a pre-incident state, employing best practices for data recovery, system configuration, and security hardening. 
  • Work with other senior members of the R&R team to develop and execute remediation plans tailored to each client’s unique situation, considering technical, operational, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Apply and deepen technical knowledge to investigate and address complex security issues such as malware infections, data breaches, and unauthorized access. 
  • Work closely with the DFIR team to collect digital artifacts and assist in digital forensic activities to uncover evidence of cyber incidents and provide insights to the incident response process. 
  • Utilize your systems administration skills to restore and configure computer systems. 
  • Troubleshoot network issues and assist with network configurations to ensure seamless restoration of client’s systems. 
  • Configure firewalls, VPN’s, Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy. 
  • Document all restoration and remediation efforts, maintaining a clear and organized record of action taken, lessons learned, and best practices applied. 
Your Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer science, related degree or equivalent former professional experience as an IT Engineer, Systems Administrator, Cybersecurity Consultant, or related position. 
  • Basic proficiency in analyzing and understanding cyber incidents, including identifying attack vectors and indicators of compromise. 
  • Foundational knowledge of various operating systems (Widows, Linux, MacOS) and their security features. 
  • Familiarity with cloud services and network administration. 
  • Experience with configuring firewalls, VPN’s, Active Directory, Exchange Group Policy. 
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, while maintaining professional composure. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, good team player mentality, with a client centric mindset. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
