Your Role:

As the Senior Director of Portfolio at Vital Farms, you will be the driving force behind the strategic direction and execution of our portfolio of eggs and butter products. Your primary responsibility will be to driving growth, and the success of the brand and business, through ownership of product portfolio: which products we sell and the product experience.  You will be a member of the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT), reporting to the CMOThis role demands a strategic thinker with a keen analytical mind and a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes.  The ideal candidate will be adept at influencing peers, elevating ways of thinking, and operating effectively in ambiguous situations. 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a member of the Marketing Leadership Team, providing support, direction and growth opportunities for the marketing crew and representing the marketing function within the organization
  • Lead and develop growing team of Brand Managers and Assoc Brand Managers across portfolio management and product experience
  • Develop long-term portfolio roadmap, driven by insights and opportunities, and execute product launches that drive strong financial results and enable brand growth
  • Lead launch of key growth-driving product line
  • Play significant leadership role in development of annual plans
  • Develop and maintain strong internal partnerships with Sales, Revenue Growth Management, Operations and Finance to enable strong and efficient portfolio planning
  • Own key demand signal inputs in forecasting process and reporting of pacing and strategic shifts when needed
  • Build and implement strategy for moat building approach to enhancing product experience across portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
  • Measure in-market business performance and monitor competitive activity: proactively share and drive business decisions accordingly 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior management role overseeing a portfolio of consumer goods products or brands.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide a team effectively.
  • Ability to navigate and operate in gray areas, making informed decisions amidst uncertainty and incomplete information.
  • Experience building iconic brands with a clear strategy, brand purpose
  • Proven experience in managing marketing budgets and performance tracking.
  • Strong sense of creativity, imagination, and innovation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • In-depth knowledge of market research, competitive analysis, and consumer behavior.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% for functional meetings, trainings and as needed to support effective team and portfolio management

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $180,000 - $210,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
