Job description

Senior Lead UX Designer (CAD Software)

Job Title: Senior Lead UX Designer
Location: San Antonio, TX, or Remote. Must be available during CST hours.
Job Type: Contract with potential to hire

Responsibilities:

Lead the design strategy for our CAD software application, ensuring a user-centered approach throughout the product lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to define user requirements and design innovative solutions.
Conduct in-depth user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions and validate concepts.
Create and maintain design system assets, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that communicate design intentions effectively.
Present design concepts and case studies to stakeholders, articulating design rationale and gathering constructive feedback.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio that includes case studies demonstrating your design process and impact, particularly in CAD software or related fields.
Proven experience in leading design projects as an individual contributor with a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
Familiarity with CAD tools and workflows, and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by users in architecture, technical drafting, or automotive engineering.
Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and experience with prototyping and design systems.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
