Position Highlights
The successful candidate will join the ICBC Corporate Law Team. This team plays an integral part in helping the business remove barriers to innovation. You will work in a group of 10 creative solicitors (each with specific legal expertise). You will primarily contribute to the team with your commercial & technology law expertise.
Accountabilities
- Drafting and negotiating technology (and other) commercial agreements.
- Advising on a wide variety of matters requiring creative legal solutions.
- Providing simple, straightforward and knowledgeable legal advice.
- Helping the corporate law team with efficiency initiatives.
- Providing training to colleagues and business clients.
- Advising on legal developments and legislative changes.
- Managing and overseeing external counsel as required.
- Advising on company policies.
Position Requirements
- Experience as a commercial or technology solicitor at a top tier law firm (see below), Counsel III (6-13 years) and Counsel IV (13+ years).
- Ability to work with many different business groups on a wide variety of legal issues.
- Ability to write and communicate complex concepts in a simple manner.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
- Strong ability to support, collaborate with, and negotiate on behalf of, business clients.
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- LL.B/JD or equivalent (and an active membership at the Law Society of British Columbia).

For Counsel III: $116,300 - $165,000
For Counsel IV: $137,300 - $194,700
