Description

We are a purpose-driven professional services firm dedicated to providing digital transformation and program support services for a range of diverse federal program missions. Our focus extends across the intersections of national security, public health and safety, and financial services programs. We are seeking an experienced Section 508 Specialist (Remediation) to join our accessibility practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development and maintenance of the NCUA.gov and MyCreditUnion.gov websites. This role will coordinate with Section 508 Coordinator, web, development, design, testing and validation teams. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing, testing, and assisting with remediation of websites, website content and electronic documents including several different formats of graphics, animations/Flash, and documents (including PDF and Microsoft Office). 
  • Work with NCUA IT Security personnel to make sure that accessibility issues identified during penetration testing and vulnerability scans of the Drupal sites are recorded and remedied.
  • Resolve required Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) submissions related to the agency public websites accessibility.
  • Provide recommendations for improving PDF documents and Excel files on the public website to ensure compliance with Section 508 and improve the agency’s overall performance. Assist NCUA offices in the remediation of PDF files or conversion of PDF files to HTML pages, and remediation of Excel files.
  • Coordinate with the Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) Web Team to ensure a seamless process for reposting files to the public websites.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Section 508 specialization and remediation using Level Access AMP and Commonlook PDF.
  • Experience with the DHS Trusted Tester Process.
  • Extensive experience in OMB M-24-08 Strengthening Digital Accessibility and the Management of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Experience in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0)/508 Knowledge.

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift during normal business hours of 8 am – 5 pm EST
