What’s In Store 

Davies Risk Services is on the lookout for a Claim Support Representative who will provide support to claims staff in managing new and ongoing disability insurance claims on behalf of client insurance companies and provide various operational office support and mailroom functions.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide administrative support to claims staff through phone assistance, payment status inquiries, application and closed claim requests
  • Process new notices, including file set-up, and generate monthly spreadsheet for management
  • Processing outgoing mail and overnight requests, logging incoming mail and reviewing all automatic payment claim mail before being filed
  • Communicate with management, insureds, insurance agents, client companies, legal and medical professionals regarding disability claims
  • Process and distribute checks daily, both internally and externally
  • Assist Claim Department (directors and examiners) in daily functions and requests
  • Assist in phone coverage for receptionist (lunch hour and vacation time relief)
  • Direct general inquiries from policyholders to the proper department and ensure that inquiries are handled in a timely and courteous manner
  • Request closed claims and application files
  • Follow-up on claim investigation expense payments
  • Sort, open, date stamp, log and distribute incoming mail; process forwarded and returned mail
  • Receive and distribute UPS, Federal Express and other carrier packages; pick up mail at other office sites as necessary
  • Sort, stuff and mail envelopes for various bulk mailings; run postage and prepare outgoing mail for pick-up
  • Ensure that there is sufficient money in postage account 
  • Administer off-site client file storage
  • Coordinate stationary and other printing functions with outside vendor, order and stock office supplies
  • Process client address and name changes; distribute faxes throughout the day
  • Match/staple all shipping receipts with monthly invoices and submit to Accounting within 5 days of receiving invoice.
  • Provide phone coverage for multiple phone lines. 
  • Ensure copiers are fully operational.

This is a full-time, home-based position.  

Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school degree
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 2–3 years’ experience in an office environment
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish and English preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent cognitive ability, analytical skills, organization and recall
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Excellent team player with interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to handles distractions well, adaptable to new responsibilities; ability to quickly switch between tasks and adapt to changes easily
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues
