We also act as the professional home for individuals working in applied public health epidemiologists. CSTE works to advance public health policy and epidemiologic capacity. We provide information, education, and developmental support of practicing epidemiologists in a wide range of areas as well as expertise for program and surveillance efforts. CSTE offers a hybrid workplace model with the National Office location in Atlanta, GA with a majority of staff located in that area. Most Atlanta based staff telework partly in the National Office and partly from an alternative worksite, such as their home. CSTE also supports a distributed remote workforce across the country. Position Description: Under the general supervision of the Senior Communications Director, the Digital Media Intern will be responsible for supporting a variety of CSTE’s strategic communication activities. This role will help shape CSTE’s social media strategy, regularly evaluate and benchmark performance of CSTE’s social media channels, support content development, and assist with content delivery.
Areas of work will focus specifically on support of CSTE’s external digital presence, including social media and blogs. .
Day to day work may include drafting social media content, posting on CSTE social media channels, scheduling and participating in conference calls, taking notes, attending meetings or webinars, communicating with CSTE members and staff, and other duties as assigned.
PLEASE NOTE: Internship projects are not thesis eligible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Monitor CSTE social media channels to identify engagement opportunities
- Conduct environmental scans and research to identify content opportunities
- Curate and draft content for CSTE social media channels and the CSTE blog
- Post approved content on CSTE social media channels
- Evaluate and monitor social media metrics and compile analytics reports as requested
- Contribute to CSTE social media strategy
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate seeking a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of communication principles and best practices preferred
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in social media, particularly on: LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube preferred
Skillset:
Experience working in Hootsuite or similar social media scheduling tools
Experience in Microsoft Office
Experience working in digital media for a business/organization preferred
CSTE’s pay structure is establish by grade with each position placed in a grade based on the level of difficulty, duties and responsibilities, knowledge and skill requirements, education and training, and qualifications. A new employee is usually hired at the minimum of the grade but commensurate with related job experience. See posting details for the grade salary range and anticipated hiring range.

- Position based in Atlanta, GA and eligible for hybrid telework

This position is a temporary part-time grant funded position to support grant funded activities.
