Business Process Compliance Expert

Sandvik Coromant is part of the business area Sandvik Machining Solutions within the 150-year-old global industrial group Sandvik. We are hiring for a Business Process Compliance Expert to join our team in Mebane, NC.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in Global Trade compliance laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations. 
  • Lead restricted party screening, export jurisdiction and classification determination, and authorization analysis and management. 
  • Manage the implementation of FARS/DFARS contract requirements, including compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards. 
  • Provide compliance support to the organization through all phases of the sales, engineering, and product development processes. 
  • Drive development and implementation of procedures and work instructions for Global Trade control processes. 
  • Identify compliance risks and manage the life cycle of complex cross-functional risk programs. 
  • Support the implementation of the Sandvik compliance program, including anti-bribery, competition law, and data privacy program requirements. 
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify program and regulatory developments and provide updates to management regarding compliance initiatives impacting company business. 
  • Report all potential compliance concerns consistent with company requirements and assist with internal investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation, as required. 
  • Assist with self-assessments, including continuous improvement, validation, and audits to test and measure program effectiveness. 
  • Engage all levels across the organization by developing and facilitating a function-specific training and communications program.

  • Act and communicate as Sandvik Coromant brand ambassador with customers. 
  • Act according to code of conduct and Sandvik Coromant values and principles.

Required Compentencies

  • Strong understanding of Global Trade compliance laws and regulations, including the ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations.  
  • Experience leading customer contract requirements management, including FARS and DFARS requirements.  
  • Strong leadership, organization, and attention to detail.  
  • Complex solving-problem skills, ability to analyze possible solutions with technical expertise, judgement, and the application of precedents.  
  • Proven ability to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems while applying advanced analytical thought and judgement.  
  • International travel up to 30% 

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience working with risk management, regulatory affairs, or compliance preferred. 
  • Experience working as part of an international team.  

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Overnight or extended travel domestically and overseas to support the role and the business.  
  • Overnight or extended travel domestically and overseas to attend training, meetings, conferences. 
  • Must live in the U.S.
