Summary of Job Duties:
Under supervision, the Research Assistant in the Psychiatric Research Institute’s Women’s Mental Health Program (WMHP) identifies, contacts, and interviews research study participants to obtain data for an assigned research project following established guidelines & procedures within the WMHP. The Research Assistant serves to aid in day-to-day activities within the WMHP as they relate to recruitment, screening, enrollment and assessment of research participants for WMHP inpatient and outpatient clinical research studies.

Special knowledge in venipuncture and processing of biological specimens (i.e. blood & urine, saliva) under the supervision of a medical personnel

Responsibilities:
Maintains new and existing project and/or research databases and establishes quality control and security protocols.
Advises the Principal Investigator regarding project data issues and resolutions.
Serves as a liaison with outside contractors on all issues regarding the database.
Participates in the evaluation of research results, performs statistical analyses of data collected, evaluates and provides regular reports of study progress, and researches literature for new techniques that can be applied to on-going studies.
Develops project-specific training materials and processes for on-line or face-to-face trainings across the state to ensure data collection site compliance with security and privacy policies.
Assists the Principal Investigator and Research Project Coordinator to prepare recruitment packages, implement strategies to recruit and retain participants, and keep an up-to-date record of participants.
Performs other duties as assigned.
