Summary of Job Duties:
Tobacco Cessation Counselling, Follow Up, Clinical Engagement and Program Services Promotion. Provides individual or group tobacco cessation support and pharmacological advice in accordance with the Centers of Disease Control Tobacco Cessation Guidelines to patients, family members and UAMS staff and students who want to stop tobacco product use.

Under-graduate with Three (3) years Tobacco Cessation experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Provides regular follow up (face to face, telephone, My Chart and telehealth) to clients committed to tobacco cessation.
Responds to client’s phone calls and requests for information within 3 business days.
Documents all client interactions in patients EMR.
Interacts directly with clinical team to ensure tobacco history is documented and cessation services are provided to patients.
Keeps Healthcare Providers apprised of patient cessation efforts and outcomes.
Maintains and analysis outcome data to identify opportunities for program growth and improvement.
Assists Clinical teams with goals related to Tobacco.
Improves UAMS and community awareness of tobacco cessation opportunities.
Promotes tobacco cessation programs and services to clinics and other groups via face to face outreach, production/display of advertising materials, and other promotional initiatives.
Promotes tobacco cessation efforts of employees by regularly engaging with UAMS staff members.
Explores opportunities for tobacco cessation grant funding and assists with proposal submissions.
Provides tobacco cessation 2A’s + R trainings and cessation updates for clinical staff interfacing with patients who use tobacco/nicotine products.
Promotes Tobacco Treatment Specialist certification, Brief Tobacco Intervention course, Dimensions: Tobacco Free Advanced Techniques Program and other training opportunities for clinical staff wishing to increase tobacco cessation knowledge and counseling skills.
Provides support to existing and newly trained staff in the everyday provision of the tobacco cessation services through regular communication, including face to face visits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
