What you’ll be doing...

The Data & Analytics Governance Product Manager helps define the product vision, strategy and roadmap to realize and advance the Verizon Data Marketplace’s Governance charter to make data discoverable, usable, protected, and compliant across the company.  Use a business and design thinking centric approach to understand and come up with an innovative solution with impactful OKRs with the business.  Then work with the cross-functional teams to develop, catalog, govern, launch and publish the governed data into the Marketplace with monitoring and feedback loop to continuously improve and increase use across Verizon.

Responsibilities include:

  • Employing Design Thinking & Product Management methodologies to advance the Verizon Data Marketplace’s governed data charter & roadmap with impactful business outcomes and adoption.
  • Articulating and prioritizing business, functional and technical requirements for the Marketplace and its governed data, then work with the functional teams to design, develop, playback, communicate &  launch with high touchpoints with the business users throughout to maximize adoption, productivity and efficiency. Prioritizing new requirements with backlog and defects.
  • Working with business units and corporate security to analyze policies and data flows to define standards & rules.
  • Continuously driving improvement and automation to achieve self-service publish and managing of data in the Marketplace by data owners across Verizon business units, includes auto discovery, auto classification, auto cataloging & auto publishing.
  • Instrumenting, building and maintaining usage and behavioral dashboards with focus on anomalies to continually improve adoption and business value of the Marketplace and its governed data.
  • Effectively communicating the charter, strategic roadmap, solution, status & any issues mitigations verbally and via presentations/reports to effectively resonate with business or technical audiences to align and execute.
  • Identifying and driving business impactful innovations.
  • Assessing environments, prospective technologies, options to resolve identified problems, champion continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for...

High performance self-starting resilient Product Management professional experienced with the SDLC of 3-tiered solutions & services with global cross-functional team. Candidate will possess excellent people, team and organizational skills.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with Design Thinking or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience in Technical Solutions Product Management.
  • Experience Managing Product Global Software Development Lifcycle (SDLC) cross functional team on 3-tiered Solutions and reusable/extensible Services.
  • Experience with Data & Analytics products.
  • Proven critical thinking with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proven leadership experience in a business or function role, working end-to-end with cross-functional teams to deliver and manage products.
  • Proven experience applying Design Thinking and Product Management methodologies to create an inclusive business/user first culture and solutions.
  • Proven experience integrating Business and Enterprise strategies.
  • Proven experience leading and working across global cross functional teams.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Masters of Computer Science with Design Thinking.
  • Governance experience and knowledge.
  • Experience creating and managing a democratized and/or monetized Data Marketplace.
  • Experience creating and nurturing a positive team collaboration and results oriented culture.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
