It is an exciting time to join our Company's Immunology team, as we aspire to become the trusted leader in delivering novel solutions and precision medicine to transform the standard of care for Immune-Mediated Diseases.  Our most advanced investigational product is a phase 3 monoclonal antibody directed to a novel target, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-like cytokine 1A (TL1A), with initial indications for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD).  The immunology business is expected to create meaningful, long-term impact for patients and, in turn, drive growth for the company.

The AVP, Immunology US Commercial Leader is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and managing the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the Immunology Business. This role reports directly to the head of the US Pharma Business and sits on the US Pharma Leadership Team. The AVP, Immunology US Commercial Leader will be accountable for developing and executing the business strategy, driving product commercialization and building strong relationships with key immunology stakeholders.  Additionally, the AVP is responsible for building and leading a team of high-performing commercial marketers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Immunology Business, aligning with the overall objectives of the US Pharma division, to drive business growth and maximize market potential.

  • Product Commercialization: Oversee the successful launch and commercialization of immunology products, including customer insights, pricing, access, positioning, and promotional strategies. Develop Immunology go-to-market model and build capabilities to ensure successful launches.

  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging developments in immunology research and therapeutics to identify opportunities and risks, and ensure a proactive approach to business strategy.

  • Financial Management: Responsible for achieving financial objectives, monitoring budgetary performance, and ensuring the Immunology Business operates within allocated resources and profitability targets. Responsible for leading team through financial review cycles.

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing clear direction, guidance, and coaching to drive employee engagement, professional growth, and organizational success. Foster a safe and inclusive team dynamic that values diverse perspectives.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and opinion leaders, to enhance the company's reputation and market presence.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, such as R&D, Medical Affairs, Sales, Global Marketing, and Market Access, to align strategies, optimize resource utilization, drive integrated business initiatives and ensure US perspective is incorporated into business planning.

  • Performance Monitoring: Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the performance, market penetration, and financial success of the Immunology Business, and take corrective actions as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

  • Experience launching products in highly competitive markets

  • Demonstrated success in leading and growing a product portfolio or therapeutic area business, with a strong understanding of commercialization strategies and US market dynamics

  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to navigate large organizations, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to business unit/enterprise-level initiatives.

  • Excellent analytical, financial acumen, and problem-solving skills to drive data-driven decision making

  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory and compliance environment for pharmaceutical products, including FDA regulations and guidelines

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent business qualification

  • Experience in immunology or related therapeutic areas

  • Understanding of US access environment
