Machine Solutions, Inc. (MSI) is a pioneer and leading supplier of medical product process and testing
equipment. MSI has been instrumental in automating several manual processes within stent and catheter
manufacturing. Our combined product catalog allows us to be a single source supplier for 10+ catheter manufacturing and testing processes. We offer an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individuals in a fast-paced, med device focused organization.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence in an assigned geographic territory for our catheter tipping and automation equipment product lines. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Business Development Managers should look for new business opportunities for other MSI product linesand report those back to the appropriate channels within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for territory growth, technical expertise, and customer satisfaction.
- Plan, manage, and implement the sales process to successfully achieve sales goals, including post sale follow up activity in a customer service driven selling environment.
- Negotiate terms and pricing on sales contracts; close orders to meet sales budgets and quotas.
- Develop solid working relationship with existing accounts
- Identify new sales opportunities and create relationships with new accounts
- Implement the recommendations of the strategic marketing plan
- Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments
- Create quarterly sales forecast for assigned sales territory and create an ongoing revenue growth sales plan
- Attend, telephonically, weekly sales meetings and updates
- Attend at least two trade show a year and travel 35-60% (depending on territory) to meet with customers.
- Understand customer’s technical requirements and express them as detailed engineering specifications
- Support technical and process needs of customer base
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, MSI mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
- Ad-hoc projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management with three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years sales experience selling technical engineered custom products
- Able to understand technical requirements and express them as detailed engineering specifications.
- Engineering or Medical Device Manufacturing background is preferred. Knowledge of plastics or injection molding processes as well as catheter manufacturing expertise would be an asset to this position.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Formal Sales Training preferred, but not a prerequisite.
TERRITORY:
This is a remote position. Preferred candidate will live in United States near a major airport.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position will spend some time standing, sitting, walking, using hands to feel, handle, or finger, and reaching with hands or arms. A lot of time will be spent talking and hearing. Minimal time will be spent lifting weight but when weight is lifted; weight of up to 100 lbs. may be required, for example, set up at trade shows.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Sometime will be spent near moving mechanical parts and with risk of electrical shock
