What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
We’re looking for a skilled Freelance Motion Designer to join the Platform Partnerships team. They will be working closely alongside our in-house creatives to help produce campaigns for our app store marketing channels and create moving user stories and visuals.

At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Designing and refresh motion ad creatives for our app store campaigns and editorials
- Designing evergreen & seasonal campaign motion assets. You will also be working closely with other Graphic Designers, Motion Designers and Production Team in producing elements that will be used in our video ad creatives.
- Be able to communicate the value proposition via layout, typography and color theory
- Supporting scale for global campaigns through creative cascading for various placements and ratios.
You're probably a match if:
- You have 4-6+ years of experience as a graphic and motion designer, creating a diverse range of branding and advertising campaigns.
- You’ve got a good grasp of brand thinking, can easily understand the Canva visual language and tone of the brand.
- You have strong visual communication skills, layout experience from typography and colour theory which you can use effectively in producing engaging ad creatives.
- You have a strong portfolio and/or reel demonstrating your passion for graphic design, branding and advertising.
- You have a working knowledge of Canva, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Basic Adobe Premiere and After Effects are a bonus!
- Your skills are adaptable to manage delivery of outputs and work on multiple revisions depending on the campaign needs, even when you’re creating high-volume graphic design requirements with tight deadlines.
- You have great communication skills to collaborate with remote creative teams, and are able to sell ideas on creative brainstorms.
About the team:
