Job description

Political Data Analytics Lead (Remote)

GoodParty.org is looking for a Political Data Analytics Lead or Political Data Analytics Manager (title commensurate with experience) with 3+ years work experience who’s got top notch skills in building data stacks, modeling, and data-driven problem solving. You’ll be the analytical backbone for our remote startup as we scale our impact.

About GoodParty.org:

Americans – especially young people – are losing faith in democracy. The rigged, two-party system has turned “Independent” into a dirty word. Voters are trapped between choosing the lesser of two evils or sitting out elections altogether.

A majority of eligible voters (over 130M Americans), including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. But they keep getting re-elected! Whether you’re concerned about the environment, healthcare costs, wars, inequality, or our individual freedoms, many great solutions are held back by the dark doom loop of dysfunctional partisan politics.

While mainstream media and the two major parties focus on federal elections (Congress and the President), GoodParty.org is building from the bottom up. With over 500,000 elected offices in the United States, 70% of which are uncontested, GoodParty.org is powering a grassroots revolution to take back our communities from career politicians by helping real people run and win local and state-level campaigns all across the country.

How?

GoodParty.org’s solution is making it simple to run, win, and serve without partisan or big-money support. We offer free AI-powered tools that turn real people into civic heroes independent of partisan support or big money. By leveraging social media and creators, we’re making our mission to make people matter more than money mainstream.

And, it’s working! Starting with 11 wins in the 2023 election cycle, GoodParty.org has already powered over 250 wins by independents in 2024. We’re on our way to over 1,000 wins in 2024.

Looking ahead, we’ll build on our momentum and expand our product offerings to help candidates deliver on their promises and serve their constituents effectively. This will allow us to move the needle on transforming civic leadership.

GoodParty.org is founded by serial entrepreneur, Farhad Mohit, with over $1B in exits — Flipagram (now TikTok), Shopzilla, and BizRate.

What you’ll do:

  • Build models and provide insights that will empower independent candidates across the country to run, win and serve as elected officials, at scale, for the first time in American history.

  • Be part of the team developing a proprietary candidate viability model to understand the path and progress toward victory for independent candidates to run and win elections without dependence on fundraising.

  • Work with the Executive and Product teams to build the bridge between our political campaign operation and product user experience.

  • You will lead political voter data operations, analysis and insights, including, but not limited to:

    • Voter Segmentation and Targeting

    • Turnout Prediction and Viability Modeling

    • GOTV and Mobilization Analytics

    • Data Quality and Integrity Management

    • A/B Testing and Experimentation

    • Geospatial Analysis for Field Strategy

    • Sentiment Analysis on Social and News Media

  • Collaborate on cross-functional analytical projects for finance, product, marketing and politics. Build strategic models and financial models to inform decisions, prepare reports, and give presentations.

  • Report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Who you are:

  • You’re done doing this work for the two-party system.

  • You’re convinced that change won’t come from Democrats and Republicans.

  • You believe more competition in elections is both necessary and possible and you have the skills to help make it happen.

  • You have at least 3 years of work experience in a political campaign data science and analytics

  • You are quantitative by nature.

  • Your technical skills include SQL, Business Intelligence Tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.), Python, and leveraging AI tools to do it all more efficiently.

  • You are comfortable creating complex strategic and financial models to inform decisions.

  • You can confidently put together polished, persuasive presentations. You know how to visualize data or findings in a way anyone can easily digest.

  • You’re a project manager

  • You catch the details that others miss and notice issues as they’re emerging. You can’t help but proactively jump in to help solve them.

Bonus if:

  • You have worked at a data-driven startup

  • You have familiarity with various campaign technologies and platforms

Why you should work for GoodParty.org:

  • Join us in solving the biggest problem of our time – fixing our democracy – so all other problems can be solved

  • We’re a Public Benefit Corporation that prioritizes social impact over profit

  • Innovative Bitcoin denominated deferred bonus plan, allowing you to have the amazing upside of being in a startup while working on a truly meaningful mission

  • Work where and how you like, on a fully remote team spread across the country

  • Join a passionate team with diverse political views focused on one mission

  • 100% coverage of health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your dependents

  • We encourage you to take time off to recharge and have an unlimited PTO (sick and vacation) policy. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We believe a work-life balance is needed to get there.

  • We’ll make sure you’ve got what you need to work remotely through our workspace setup stipend

  • If you work from home, we give $50/month to help with your internet and other expenses. If you prefer co-working, that’s an option we can discuss too.

  • Fully funded for our mission. No stressing over whether the next round of funding will come through. Focus on making an impact. That’s what matters here.

The salary range is $105,000 – $150,000 for this remote, full-time position with excellent benefits. This range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, seniority, education, qualifications, certifications, and organizational needs. We reserve the right to modify this pay range at any time. Title will also be commensurate with experience.
